FAQs
What are paint and sip sessions?
Paint and Sip sessions are a fun and easy way to hang out with your friends and family while making some art. Whether you’re a first-time painter or a seasoned doodler, no art experience is needed—our friendly local artists guide you step by step as you recreate the featured artwork. We will provide you with a 40x50cm canvas that you can take home plus all the materials needed to create your masterpiece, including paints, brushes, easel, etc. We are fully licenced so you can bring your favourite alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage and snacks, hang out with your nearest and dearest and have fun! No food or drink is included in the cost unless otherwise specified in the event description.
How long is the session?
A paint and sip session is booked for 2 hrs but occasionally goes a little longer depending on the complexity of the painting.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever you are comfortable in. Aprons will be provided but paint has a knack of getting where you least expect it so please keep that in mind when choosing your party outfit.
Is parking available?
Yes, there is free parking directly behind the venue and also a large carpark across the road.
Are children or babies allowed?
Unless otherwise specified, our evening events (any after 5pm) are strictly for ages 18 and above. Ages 14 and above are welcome at our daytime events with a paying parent/guardian. All 10am sessions are entirely alcohol free.
Occasionally we will have sessions specifically for children. These will be strictly alcohol free and all children must be accompanied by a paid parent/guardian.
We kindly ask that babies are not brought to any of our events. A caregiver is welcome to bring a breastfed baby in for a feed during the event however we ask that they don’t remain after feeding is finished.
No refunds or credit will be given if you bring a child to an event and are refused entry.
Can I bring food and drink?
Yes, you're welcome to bring drinks and snacks to the sessions. However, table space is at a premium and filled with paint, water and brushes so please no large platters or hot or greasy food. Blackwood has a stack of great restaurants locally so if you’re after more than a snack, please check these out before or after the session.

What if I have never painted before?
No problem! Most of our guests have never painted before but everyone has a creative streak. That’s why we have experienced artists leading the sessions. They will give you all the help and guidance you need to create an incredible and unique work of art you will be happy to put on your walls. Relax and have fun with your loved ones, no pressure, no expectation, no judgement!
Can I leave my canvas and pick it up later?
The studio is only open for the sessions and we have limited space so we are unable to store canvasses that are left behind. Please take your artwork home with you. Canvasses that are left behind will be recycled.
